With the popularity of RuPaul's Drag Race, the drag scene is becoming mainstream every day. Some of the fiercest and most talented queens are captured in Greg Bailey's book, "Alright Darling? The Contemporary Drag Scene". Bailey catches the like of Alyssa Edwards, Coco Peru, and Sasha Velour in raw, glamorous displays including backstage antics and glorious shade. The Annual Gentlemen’s Ball, held at The Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, is a black-tie Fundraising Gala and Awards Program that celebrates the accomplishments of Black LGBTQ people who have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life of the black LGBTQ community and who have demonstrated a commitment to social change. Honorees included Actor/Musician, Jussie Smollett, Black Lives Matter Co-Founder, Alicia Garza
