MODELS OF HOPE AWARDS GALA BRUNCH
SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2026 • 11:30 AM
LA FONDA DEL BOSQUE AT THE NATIONAL HISPANIC CULTURAL CENTER
Founded by PRIDE & Equality Magazine in 2005, Models of Hope was created in response to the challenges LGBTQIA+ youth continue to face in their search for acceptance, safety, and support. While national initiatives like The Trevor Project offered vital encouragement, there remained a need for local, visible role models who embodied hope right here in New Mexico.
In 2006, PRIDE & Equality Magazine introduced The Vincent R. Johnson Models of Hope Awards Gala, honoring individuals and organizations whose work uplifts, protects, and inspires the LGBTQIA+ community. Each year, this prestigious recognition celebrates those who champion equity, advocate for youth, and demonstrate leadership that strengthens our community.
After 20 years, Models of Hope continues to shine a light on those who remind us that change is possible, visibility matters, and hope must always be nurtured.
